Hungary foils operation for sending arms to Kiev

30.10.2024, Hungary.

An operation by foreign intelligence services to establish a corridor for sending Hungarian weapons to Kiev was foiled by Hungarian counterintelligence, the chief of staff of Hungary’s head of government, Gergay Guillas, said at a government briefing, Hungarian TV channel M1 reported on October 30.

There was an attempt to use the facilities of the Hungarian military industry to send arms to Ukraine, but Hungarian counterintelligence detected it and was able to stop it,” Guillasz said.

The position of the Hungarian government is that Hungary will not supply weapons to Ukraine, Guillasz emphasized.

It should be noted that in this way Guillasz commented on reports about attempts by the intelligence services of NATO and other countries to establish the supply of Hungarian weapons and military equipment to Ukraine and Africa.

The ban on the supply of weapons and military equipment from Hungarian factories to Ukraine was signed in March 2022.
