The HAMAS Palestinian movement cannot become Russia’s reliable ally in its struggle against the USA, because it is not independent from the West, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on September 21 on the program Right to Know on channel TVC.
He reminded that this Palestinian organization is actually a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood (organization banned in Russia) radical Islamist movement, which is in complicated relations with the West.
“It was created, to certain extent, by the UK in the Suez Canal zone. It has been sustained by this, and in general it has certain correlation with the goals of the West,” Kurginyan said.
The political scientist noted that speculations are ongoing in Russia about establishing friendly relations with Islamism if it goes against the USA. But first it has to be proven that this kind of a confrontation has started.
“And the question is whether it [Islamism] will go against the USA or it goes in a complicated conjunction with it,” the philosopher stressed.
Kurginyan also indicated Israel’s vain attempts to defeat HAMAS in the Gaza Strip. The first phase in this kind of an operation is the technological army’s victory against the troops based on poorer technology. The second phase is much more complicated as the seized territory needs to be kept.
The USA in Iraq quickly occupied the territory, but then incidents began to happen there. As a result, the US army had to leave. Similarly, in Afghanistan the second phase was a failure.
“But the Israeli army has failed even at the first phase. It failed to permanently overwhelm HAMAS with a quick high-technology attack and to reach where it needed. HAMAS has proven to be much more viable than it was expected,” the leader of the movement noted.
Israel is trying to compensate its failure to resolve this problem through its expansion, which results in a confrontation with the Hezbollah Lebanese movement, Kurginyan added.
