Kiev provokes Russia for a disproportionately harsh response

04.10.2024, Astana.

The Ukrainian attack on Kursk Region is a provocation, the purpose of this provocation is to force Russia to respond disproportionately harshly. Alexander Bortnikov, chairman of the Council of Heads of Security Bodies and Special Services of the CIS Member States, said in Astana at the 55th meeting of the organization on October 4.

Russia’s harsh disproportionate response to the attack by the Ukraine in Kursk Region should have potentially hindered initiatives to settle the conflict in Ukraine.

In addition, Kiev also intends to involve the Baltics and Poland in the conflict with the help of provocations on the border with Belarus, Bortnikov said. The Ukrainian drones flying to Belarus and the concentration of Ukrainian troops near the Belarusian border testify this.
