Iranian hypersonic Fattah missiles destroyed Israel’s Arrow-2 and Arrow-3 missile defense systems for the first time, Iranian television channel IRIB informed on October 1.
These Israeli missile defense systems are part of Israel’s layered missile defense strategy and are designed to intercept ballistic missiles with ranges up to 3,000 km.
Israel began developing its missile defense system in 1986 in collaboration with the United States as part of the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) program. The US has been involved in funding the project.
