EU lacks authority to permit Ukraine strikes deep into Russia

26.09.2024, Brussels.

Only individual EU member states can authorize Ukraine to use Western weapons for strikes deep into Russia, while the European Commission can only recommend actions, stated EU representative Peter Stano on September 26, as reported by Izvestia.

He noted that the decision on whether to use weapons provided by individual EU member states is the exclusive competence of each member state.

Earlier, the European Parliament approved a resolution by majority vote calling on EU countries to lift restrictions on the use of Western weapons by the Kiev regime against targets deep into Russia.
