IRGC prohibits its members from using communication devices

The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) prohibited its members from using communication devices following the explosions of such devices in Lebanon, Reuters wrote on September 23, citing its sources.

The agency noted that the IRGC ordered all its members to stop using any communication devices.

This directive was issued after thousands of pagers and radios used by members of the Shiite movement Hezbollah exploded in Lebanon last week.

According to the source, the IRGC leadership was alarmed by the incidents in Lebanon and conducted a comprehensive check of their own devices. The IRGC requested the results of Hezbollah’s technical examination and the remnants of the exploded devices.

Additionally, the IRGC initiated an internal investigation to identify personnel who might have collaborated with Israeli intelligence services and carried out their tasks. The investigation includes analyzing employees’ bank accounts and the travels of them and their families.

Security measures have been significantly strengthened at Iranian nuclear and military facilities following the explosions in Lebanon.
