Iran’s non-oil exports to the EAEU have increased by 138%, head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) Mehdi Zeigami said, Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported on August 26.

Zeigami noted that 300 Iranian companies are preparing to participate in the upcoming Iran-EAEU business forum in Armenia in late September. He recalled that the volume of bilateral trade has doubled since establishing a free trade zone between Iran and the EAEU.

Mehr Agency also reports that Russian automobile traders are interested in products of Iranian automobile industry. Due to the withdrawal of Western automobile manufacturing companies from Russia, there is a shortage of spare parts and automobile manufacturing equipment in the country. It is noted that the export of Iranian automobile parts to Russia has more than quadrupled in recent years.

Russian Presidential Advisor Anton Kobyakov at a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali urged Iran to boost economic relations with Russia.
