15.07.2024, St. Petersburg.

A heavy multifunctional unmanned surface vehicles based on the Vizir uncrewed boat is planned to be armed with light missiles, Mikhail Danilenko, managing director of the military-industrial holding KMZ (Kingisepp Mashzavod), told RIA Novosti on July 15.

Up to 8 launchers are planned to be mounted on one board.

“Such a boat can fulfill the function of a carrier of a missile with a small striking power, which has its own video camera, autonomous joystick control from the ground. You can put a small charge. The speed of the missile is small, the missile itself is a very simple and cheap product worth about 500 thousand rubles [ca. $6000]. And we can mount such equipment on a boat in the number of 6 to 8 units, which can carry a charge of small destructive power, but which will reach the right place and carry out the explosion,” he said.

According to Danilenko, tests of such a boat are already underway.
