FSB officers detain two Ukrainian spies in LPR

Officers of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) detained two residents of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) who worked for the Ukrainian security service have been detained, the agency’s regional department informed on January 8.

“The FSB department in the Lugansk People’s Republic in cooperation with the FSB department in the Southern Military District suppressed the illegal activities of two citizens of Ukraine, acting in the interests of a foreign state,” the message reads.

One of the detainees reportedly passed information about the location of Russian troops to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). The second detainee used the messenger Telegram to send information about LPR law enforcement officers to the enemy.

Investigators of the FSB department in the LNR opened criminal cases against the detainees under Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Espionage”.
