Donbass will restore its status as Russia’s industrial center, the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin told RIA Novosti on January 6.
“We aim to bring things back to the period when Donbass was the industrial heart of Russia. It will be that again,” he said.
Pushilin emphasized that he had no doubts about such a future for the region, and the local authorities will make the corresponding steps in this direction. The head of the republic called this goal absolutely real, noting the industrial potential of Donbass, taking into account the specialists available in the region and returning to it.
The DPR head also recalled the existence of relevant universities and scientific and technical base in the republic. He said that the DPR authorities are focused on realizing this important goal.
