There are ways to study closed political systems without going into conspiracy theories, the leader of the Essenсe of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on July 11 in his original broadcast Destiny.
According to the political scientist, conspiracy theorists, in spite of their certain pathological nature, gradually revealed two important trends about the role of closed systems in politics.
“The first is an increasingly clear social demand for the understanding of what is taking place there under the carpet. And the second is the increase in under-the-carpet activity,” Kurginyan explained.
Politics was apparently moving from the public sphere under the carpet.
Sergey Kurginyan noted that the conspiracy theorists of 1970s who studied the under-the-carpet politics had certain peculiarities due to which these people were not really trusted.
“An overwhelming majority of these people absorbed certain knowledge about closed systems and hidden processes; most often they absorbed them in quite a pathological way, and then they became pathologic themselves due to what they absorbed. A sort of peculiar squint appeared after a while, they did not cut their hair and did not shave anymore, they became more and more untidy, it was discomfortable to look and their trousers, shoes etc., and they talked quickly and looking aside,” Kurginyan described the impression of conspiracy theorists.
Admitting that politics is really taking place “under-the-carpet” and that closed systems need to be studied, Sergey Kurginyan noted that there is a way to make a respectable research into this field.
The political scientist stressed that only a very tight team of very close people armed with certain methodology can cope with such a work.
“Instead of individuals afraid of their shadows, a team should be built, which should be very tight, and it should consist of people who are very close to you, very-very close. These people should be armed with certain methodology, quite respectable one. If they are instructed that certain closedness is necessary and that they should collect some databases, even if based on public information, then maybe this is how they can avoid this conspiracy theory pathology and learn something,” Kurginyan explained the feasibility of this task and the principles that lay in the basis of Experimental Creative Center.
