Poland is caught between nuclear arsenals in Belarus and the Kaliningrad region, but having its own nuclear weapons won’t make its situation any easier, according to a summary from the theater of war published in The Essence of Time newspaper, no. 541.
Poland asked NATO at the European Council summit to deploy US nuclear weapons on its territory. Polish authorities explain this by the fact that Russia intends to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki believes that nuclear weapons should be deployed in Poland as soon as possible.
“Warsaw’s fears are quite justified – Poland is caught between the nuclear arsenal in Belarus and in the Kaliningrad region. However, the fact that Poland has its own nuclear weapons is unlikely to remedy the situation in any way,” The Essence of Time editorial reads.
