The West does not believe in a quick victory over Russia, but implements a strategy of slow strangulation, according to a summary from the theater of war published in The Essence of Time newspaper, no. 538.
According to The New York Times, US and EU officials consider it unlikely that Ukraine will be able to achieve a full-fledged victory over Russia in a counteroffensive and reach the borders as of February 24, 2022. They consider the success of the Ukrainian counteroffensive to be a blow to Russian forces that would make the Kremlin think twice about the prospects of a special operation.
“The West intends to boil the Russian frog in the Ukrainian cauldron long and slowly, because otherwise there is a risk that the Russians will wake up and will teach the West a lesson. But the strategy of slow strangulation, with a gradual accumulation of internal problems and contradictions, could bring down the government in Russia at some point,” The Essence of Time editorial reads.
