Japan orders to ensure security after North Korea launches three missiles

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida ordered the collection of information about the launch of a ballistic missile by the DPRK in order to ensure the safety of aircraft and ships, Kyodo news agency reported on December 31.

A sequential launch of three short-range ballistic missiles by the DPRK was reported by Kyodo, citing the Ministry of Defense of Japan, earlier in the day.

According to the ministry, the missiles flew about 350 km at an altitude of no more than 100 km and fell into the sea near the east coast of the Korean peninsula. All three missiles had fallen outside the exclusive economic zone of Japan according to the defense Department.

No damage to aircraft or ships has been registered. However, the Japanese government instructed officials to collect information promptly and communicate it to the public, ensure the safety of aircraft and ships and to “prepare for unforeseen circumstances.
