An agreement to build Venezuela’s first optical fiber cable plant was signed by the authorities of Venezuela and Iran, Prensa Latina informed on November 3.
The documents were signed by the governor of the Venezuelan state of La Guaira, Jose Alejandro Teran, and Iran’s Minister of Information Technology, Sayed Sattar Hashemi.
The officials were accompanied by the Iranian ambassador to Caracas, Hojjatollah Soltani, and the head of the La Guaira Special Economic Zone, Marcos Melendez.
According to the governor, the completion of this project will ensure new employment opportunities for Venezuelan families and make new technological resources available to the country.
