The US and Israel reached agreements on ceasefire in Lebanon, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu violated them and eliminated Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, one of the opposition leaders and former Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid told reporters on October 9.
Yair Lapid noted that in late September the US authorities informed him about the agreements reached on ceasefire in Lebanon for 21 days.
As the opposition leader notes the White House received consent for this step personally from Benjamin Netanyahu. However, a few days later, Israel eliminated Sheikh Nasrallah – and all settlement plans were canceled.
Hassan Nasrallah was killed on September 28 in a massive strike on a bunker where the movement’s headquarters were located. Several high-ranking Hezbollah officers were killed along with him.
On October 8, Netanyahu said that the Israeli Armed Forces had eliminated not only the head of Hezbollah, but also his successor and the successor’s successor.
