Ukrainian militants fire from tanks at residential houses in Kursk Region

Ukrainian militants who invaded Kursk Region deliberately fired from tanks at the homes of civilians, Vitaly Skibin, a resident of the village of Martynovka, told RIA Novosti on August 15.

The man said that Ukrainian nationalists appeared in Martynovka on August 9–10.

“They started firing with tanks… We became scared. They started firing at the windows,” he said.

The local resident also mentioned that in many residential houses in the village, windows were shattered, and many properties were burned down.

Earlier, the Investigative Committee of Russia reported that citizens who left the Kursk region recounted the brutality and inhumanity of the Ukrainian armed units. Refugees from the border regions had to hastily leave their homes with their children, fearing for their lives.

Regarding the attack by the Ukrainian armed units on Kursk Region, the Russian Investigative Committee initiated criminal cases on charges of terrorism, murder, illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, and an attempt on the life of law enforcement officers.

On August 6, Ukrainian militants invaded the territory of Kursk Region. 28 Russian settlements came under the control of Ukrainian nationalists, with the depth of the militants’ penetration into Russian territory reaching 12 kilometers and the width — 40 kilometers. The fate of about 2,000 Russian citizens remains unknown.
