Plans for regime change in Bangladesh may have been developed in London and Pakistan

Plans for regime change in Bangladesh and mass unrest may have been developed in London with the participation of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), according to India Today on August 6.

Intelligence sources in Bangladesh informed the publication that they have evidence of a meeting between Tarique Rahman, acting chief of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and son of Khaleda Zia, and ISI officials in Saudi Arabia.

“Sources said the Pakistan Army and the ISI aimed to destabilise Hasina’s government and restore the opposition BNP, which is known to be pro-Pakistan,” the agency wrote. India Today also wrote that China also played a role in escalating protests through ISI.

According to intelligence, student protests in Bangladesh were initiated by the Islamist organization Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, supported by Pakistani intelligence. Members of this Islamist organization carefully planned the operation for several months. There are assumptions that a significant part of the funding came from Chinese companies in Pakistan.

“While scanning social media activity during the Bangladesh protests, it was observed that the bulk of posts against the Awami League, videos of violence against the protesters and posters demonising Sheikh Hasina, were being manufactured by the BNP and its affiliated accounts,” India Today writes .

It is indicated that most of these materials were distributed from the USA.

Ыtudent protests and mass unrest forced Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to resign and flee to India. Protesters stormed Hasina’s palace.

Protests began in Dhaka and across the country after the announcement of a multi-day “non-cooperation” action with the authorities on August 4. The instigator was the Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh organization.
