04.08.2024, Moscow.

There may come a moment when Russia deploys nuclear-capable missiles as a response to the US deployment of long-range missiles in Germany, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told Russia 1 TV channel on August 4.

The diplomat noted that the supreme commander-in-chief and the military may at some point say that the country needs special munitions on certain carriers – “so that’s what will be done.” Such a decision will be made based on a combination of factors, he added.

I admit that there may come a moment when it will be needed,” Ryabkov emphasized, responding to a question about the possibility of the United States deployment of long-range missiles on the territory of Germany.

The US defense establishment said that by 2026 it will start deploying long-range missiles in Germany that are superior to European weapons. Among them were mentioned SM-6 missiles, Tomahawk and hypersonic weapons.
