Kiev mayor Klitschko admits that referendum to achieve peace in Ukraine may be held in Ukraine

Kiev mayor Vladimir Klichko admitted holding a referendum in Ukraine to achieve peace in an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera on 21 July.

Zelensky himself is unlikely to be able to come to such a decision. Therefore, it will require “legitimization” by the people, that is, a referendum will have to be held, Klithko said.

Other steps threaten Zelensky with political suicide, said the former boxer.

Klichko believes that the Israeli option of creating a government of national unity after the Hamas attack would be suitable for Ukraine. However, the Kiev mayor doubts that President Zelensky will share the power gained after the introduction of martial law.

During his speech at the Russian Foreign Ministry on June 14, Vladimir Putin named the following conditions for resolving the conflict in Ukraine: withdrawal of Ukrainian troops, Kiev’s refusal to join NATO, Ukraine’s neutral, non-aligned, non-nuclear status, and lifting of Western sanctions.
