Newly elected Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian pledged to continue supporting the “Axis of Resistance”, IFP news agency reported July 9.

The newly elected leader of Iran sent a message to the leader of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. In it, he pledged to continue supporting the “Axis of Resistance.”

At the beginning of his message, the newly elected Iranian president thanked Nasrallah for congratulating him on his election. He characterized the Hezbollah leader’s message as “kind” and “valuable.”

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported the resistance of the peoples of the region to the fake Zionist regime,” Pezeshkian added. He said this support is linked to the principled policies of the Iranian Islamic establishment and is also a continuation of the cause of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini.

Pezeshkian expressed confidence that regional resistance groups will continue to assist the people of Palestine in the conflict against Israel.

The “Axis of Resistance” is an alliance of forces close to Iran. Tehran includes the Syrian government of Assad, the Lebanese group Hezbollah, pro-Iranian forces in Iraq, and the Houthis in Yemen.
