The creation of a new system of Eurasian security will definitely be discussed at the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, RIA Novosti wrote on July 4.
According to Peskov, the idea expressed by Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the top diplomats of the Russian Foreign Ministry about the creation of a new system of Eurasian security “will definitely be mentioned.”
The presidential spokesman added that Russia has already started a dialogue with partners on this topic and the discussion of the idea is progressing “step by step.”
Putin’s idea is to roll back the presence of extra-regional military forces in Eurasia and discuss guarantees of collective security in Eurasia.
