The number of people killed in the AFU strike on Sevastopol with operational-tactical missiles ATACMS with a cluster warhead has risen to five, Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev said in his Telegram channel on June 23.
“Unfortunately, we now have three dead children and two dead adults,” the head of the region said. The number of injured amounted to 119 people.
Russian President Vladimir Putin personally called Razvozhayev immediately after the Kiev regime attacked the city. Putin expressed condolences to the loved ones of the victims. He instructed federal authorities to provide Sevastopol with all necessary assistance.
A special airplane flew from Moscow. The injured children will be given first aid in local medical institutions, and then sent for treatment to the best hospitals in Moscow, the governor said.
The strike of the AFU on Sevastopol by American missiles was made at 12:15 pm on the day of celebration of the Trinity. Earlier it was reported about three dead residents of the city, including two children. About 100 people, including children were wounded.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the strike was carried out by five ATACMS missiles packed with cluster munitions. Four of the missiles were shot down by standard air defense equipment, but the fifth missile deviated from its original trajectory due to the impact of air defense and exploded in the sky above the city.
The agency blamed the strike on the U.S., whose experts are in charge of inputting flight targets for American missiles.
The attack on Sevastopol was qualified as a terrorist attack. In this connection, the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case under the relevant article.
