Kurginyan: no one will ever give the North – South transport corridor to Russia just like that

20.06.2024, Moscow.

Russia will never be allowed to use the North – South international transport corridor just like that because it poses too much threat to Eurasia, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on May 31 on the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio station.

Sergey Kurginyan noted that the West has already condemned Russia’s participation in the building of the North – South and West – East transport corridors.

A global game of transport lines is also ongoing, which are always geopolitical and historiosophic. The Berlin – Baghdad railway once was a reason why World War One began. We cannot neglect pipelines, railways, transport corridors, and everything behind them. No one will let us have this North – South line just like that, it is too much of a threat for Eurasia,” the political scientist noted.

According to him, behind the pipelines, railways, and transport corridors there are interests of several actors: China, the West, Turkey, and Iran. The field for this game is Transcaucasia, “which has always been full of these most complicated problems, and it is full of them today as never before.”

Certain events in Georgia and Armenia are only an echo of the huge knot of problems.

Be it the Georgian story of the Armenian one (the Georgian is about the Foreign Agent Law and the Armenian is about the fictitious resistance to Pashinyan), all these stories are inside a huge pack of big problems in relation to which all these Transcaucasian countries are nothing. They are extremely small, while the interests behind them are global and ultimately universal,” the political scientist indicates.

Kurginyan stresses that it is our country that will have “untie or cut the Caucasian knot,” but we would rather resolve these problems not today.
