Putin: Treaty with North Korea provides for assistance in case of aggression

The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty signed by the Russian Federation and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) provides for mutual assistance in case of aggression against one of the states, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on June 19 following talks with DPRK leader Kim Jong-un.

“The comprehensive partnership treaty signed today provides, among other things, for mutual assistance in case of aggression against one of the parties to this treaty,” Putin said.

From June 18 to 19, the leader of Russia is in North Korea on a state visit.
