Russian troops completely liberated the village of Berdychi in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the Russian Defense Ministry said on May 2.
“As a result of active actions, units of the Group of Forces Yug completely liberated the settlement of Berdychi in the Donetsk People’s Republic,” the ministry said in a statement.
The Russian Defense Ministry informed that the Russian troops’ tactical position improved, and the Ukrainian 59th Motorized Infantry Brigade, the 42nd and 47th Mechanized Brigades, and the 109th Territorial Defense Brigade were defeated.
The troops of the Group of Forces Vostok managed to occupy more favorable lines and defeat the units of the 58th Motorized Infantry Brigade and 72nd Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian armed units.
