The West is using non-conventional methods in the war with Russia, applying the tension strategy that it had already successfully used against the USSR in the Cold War, said political scientist, analyst, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan on April 8 on Belarusian channel BelTA.
The USSR had the most powerful army in the world, which had no rival, noted the political scientist. However, “not a single plane took off, not a single tank made a move, and the country was destroyed.”
The Soviet Union lost the Cold War because the enemy did not fight according to the classic war rules, but used the strategy of tension and controlled conflicts, explained Sergey Kurginyan. And, according to the political scientist, the West will use this strategy again.
“The enemy has already said that there will be no agreements on Ukraine. The enemy sees that we are advancing, we are winning in ‘classic’ terms,” emphasized the leader of the Essence of Time movement.
The Russians could be confused and lack coordination at first, but eventually they still win the classic war one way or another, noted the expert. In addition, Russian President Vladimir Putin is “not the kind of a person who backs down,” and besides, he has the capabilities and resources, explained the political scientist.
“Therefore, what we have is – a national leader; a supporting population; an army that works, perhaps not without major flaws, but it works. There is a Russian population that can handle this; an industry that somehow began to making it all happen; oil prices as they are. This means that the Russians are slowly and unconditionally winning in classic terms,” noted the political scientist.
Under these circumstances, the West will start using non-conventional methods, as it used before, emphasized the analyst. And those who are linked with the West can be helpful in such endeavor.
“The backfire could be huge… those people who are wishing for everything to return to normal, those who love to travel to Europe, to sail on their yachts, make friends with European structures, whose families are there, and God knows what else; there are many of them. There weren’t so many of them during the times of the Soviet Union,” explained the leader of the Essence of Time movement.
The US will try to activate these so-called Russian networks, which partially were established in 1991, but largely remained clandestine at the request from the US, Sergey Kurginyan clarified.
“So, when the evil spreads onto Ukraine, and the another evil goes underground in Russia, they don’t communicate with each other? Of course they do. They certainly do – what are they looking for? They need a strategy of tension. Here is the first sign of such a strategy of tension!” — noted the political scientist, adding that such factors as incursions into the city of Belgorod and attacks from the air onto Russian regions are next signs of such a strategy.
