Developer talks about important AI-assisted improvement of Russian Piranya FPV drones

15.04.2024, Moscow.

The Piranya FPV drone’s cameras were equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) modules to improve operator performance in night conditions, a Simbir Design Bureau’s representative told reporters on April 15.

“Our drones have AI-module cameras, which allows them to capture images in the infrared spectrum in zero illumination,” the employee told the company.

The specialist also noted that with the help of AI, it will be possible to transform the image from the drone into a readable black-and-white picture for further transmission via radio channels.

FPV drone Piranya-10 is an unmanned aerial vehicle that can carry a load of up to 5 kg. The drone is also capable of hitting ground vehicles that cost hundreds of times more than the UAV itself. It can attack enemy dugouts, trenches, and supply facilities.

The Simbir Design Bureau is located in the Ulyanovsk region. It was created by specialists in the field of UAVs. The bureau has two branches in the regional center, which allows it to produce in Russia. The enterprise already produces 300 drones per day.

It is important to note that the company has encountered many fraudsters who imitate its website and social networks. Therefore, managers conduct a video call before purchasing.
