Japanese journalist surprised by the situation in Mariupol

The residents of Mariupol did not feel the impact of the military conflict on their life in the city, Japanese journalist Iriya Itani wrote the March 22 in the Daily Shincho.

The correspondent noted that supermarkets are open in the city, selling various products. Restaurants and cafes are also working.

Iriya Itani pointed out that there used to be many Greek restaurants in Mariupol, and now they have been replaced by Japanese ones. There are sushi restaurants everywhere, and the quality of food is not bad.

The journalist emphasized that while in Mariupol, he experienced two shellings, but the residents of the city were not worried. They consider the situation in the city to be peaceful.
