Rosatom and Syria sign cooperation agreement

Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation and Syria signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of non-energy application of nuclear technologies for peaceful purposes on March 26 at the Atomexpo-2024 international forum, RIA Novosti wrote.

The agreement was signed to implement a memorandum of understanding between Rosatom and the Syrian Atomic Energy Commission. It concerns nuclear and radiation technologies for medicine, industry, and other sectors.

Atomexpo-2024 opened on March 25 at the Sirius University of Science and Technology in Sochi and will last two days.

This is already the thirteenth forum. More than 4,500 people from 75 countries take part in it.

The forum’s main topic was the fourth generation of nuclear reactor technologies. According to the forum organizers, Russia is a leader in this field.
