The US led by President Biden is pushing Israel into a trap it will never escape from, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, political scientist and philosopher Sergey Kurginyan said on February 9 on the program Conversation with a Sage on channel Zvezda.
The political scientist noted that, in contrast to Biden, his opponent, US ex-president Donald Trump, if he comes to power, plans to strengthen connections with Israel.
“A new possibility of a Jewish-conservative establishment of Israel and the US will appear, on behalf of which the Netanyahu-Trump link will act. The question is what kind of a policy this link will pursue. Based on the current configuration, it will hit Iran, heavily. Iran will hit back,” Kurginyan said.
The analyst believes that the current criticism of Biden’s position on Iran is part of Trump’s election platform. As for the consequences of a Middle East conflict, Trump will have to sort them out in any event.
The political scientist believes that Israel is quite likely to use its nuclear weapons in response. The question is what kind of a response Iran, in its turn, can give to the US. The analyst expressed confidence that blanket bombing will not help the US defeat Tehran.
“The Iranian army is much stronger than the Iraqi one. The Iranian government is not a Hussein. The Iranian military is much more consolidated to defend their national interests. The Iranian society is much more national-patriotic. In addition, of course, the religious factor also plays a role, and no one denies it,” Kurginyan said.
The political scientist can see two scenarios for the region. The US will either break its teeth there or initiate a fantastically large-scale composition, and inside this composition Middle East will launch a worldwide chain reaction. And this chain reaction will affect other regions.
“Also, the US, or the Israel-US link, cannot begin any operations against Iran without involving Turkey. It just cannot. This means it will be involved. We will find ourselves sitting on two chairs. Whom will we choose if, God forbid, the conflict begins? Hopefully it will not begin. Then we are seemingly good for both sides… But what if it happens otherwise?” Kurginyan said.
