Why was it necessary to stage a coup d’état in Ukraine with subsequent casualties and threats, Vladimir Putin posed a question in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlsson published on February 9.
“The CIA carried through the coup d’état. And I think one of the deputy secretaries of state said that they even spent a large amount of money on it, almost five billion (dollars). But the political mistake is colossal,” Putin said.
According to the leader of state, all this could have been done legally without casualties, military operations and the loss of Crimea.
“And we wouldn’t lift a finger,” Vladimir Putin concluded.
