By striking the center of Belgorod in late 2023, the Ukrainian armed units deliberately hit civilians, according to the report from the theater of war, published in The Essence of Time newspaper, Issue 567.
In late December, Russia requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council in connection with the strike against Belgorod by the Ukrainian armed units. Bandera Nazis used cluster munitions to strike places where civilians celebrating New Year’s Eve were gathered. The strike killed 25 people and wounded 109.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that most of the Olkha missiles and Vampire MLRS rockets were intercepted by air defense systems, but a few cluster parts hit the city. In the case of a direct hit on Belgorod, rather than their debris, the casualties would have been disproportionately greater.
“Bandera Nazis deliberately hit the city’s central Christmas tree, the skating rink and other places of mass gathering of residents who had come to celebrate the New Year holiday,” The Essence of Time editorial reads.
