Venezuela will focus on BRICS integration in 2024, President Nicolas Maduro said, VTV wrote on January 1.
Madro called BRICS the future of humanity. He noted that BRICS has a powerful bank headquartered in Shanghai. Maduro emphasized that Venezuela has “good, progressive relations with the BRICS Bank.”
Maduro expressed hope that at the next summit in Russia, “Venezuela will join BRICS+ as a permanent member.”
According to Maduro, Venezuela is betting on BRICS as “part of this new world, a new equilibrium, as part of the Bolivarian geopolitical concept of a world of balance, a world of equals.”
He also emphasized that building relations with BRICS is necessary for investment, for the development of large markets for Venezuelan products, for the development of multifaceted relations in the cultural, political, institutional and social spheres.
From January 1, 2024, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Iran and Ethiopia officially joined the BRICS member countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa).
