The Scandinavian peninsula is rapidly becoming a NATO foothold to contain Russia, according to a report from the theater of war in The Essence of Time newspaper, issue 565.
In mid-December, the Finnish Foreign Ministry announced plans to sign a treaty with the United States, allowing the US military to deploy its bases on the country’s territory. At the same time, the Finnish defense minister assured that there were no plans to place US bases and military contingents on the border with Russia.
“A similar agreement was previously signed by the still neutral Sweden. Apparently, these agreements will legally ensure the participation of US troops in the Nordic Response exercises on the territory of Norway, Finland and Sweden, scheduled for March 2024.
