The Vostok Army Goup repelled attacks by Ukrainian assault units in the South of Donetsk, the head of the group’s press center Aleksandr Gordeyev told reporters on December 18.
“In the course of active defense, motorized rifle units supported by artillery and army aviation repelled five attacks by the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian armed units in Novomikhaylovka,” the head of the press center told reporters.
He also added that Russian aviation and artillery struck the areas near Novomikhailovka, Konstantinovka, Ugledar and Urozhaynoye, where the enemy accumulated its forces . In total, Ukrainian forces lost about 100 people in the South of Donetsk over the past 24 hours.
“As part of the counter-battery fight, the group’s calculations destroyed: an AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery station in Ugledar, a D-20 howitzer in Zelenoye Polye, and two mortar crews in the areas of Staromayorskoye,” Gordeyev added.
According to him, Russian forces disrupted the delivery of supplies to units of the 128th Brigade of Territorial Defense of the Ukrainian armed units. The Lancet barrage munitions also destroyed a T-72 tank, a Gvozdika self-propelled vehicle, and an M777 howitzer.
