The Russian army soldiers in the course of Russia’s special military operation completely dispelled the myth about the invulnerability of Western armored vehicles, President Vladimir Putin said at a ceremony on the occasion of the Day of Heroes of the Fatherland, the Kremlin press service wrote on December 8.
The report says that on the eve of the Day of Heroes of the Fatherland in the St. George Hall of the Kremlin Palace, the leader of the state presents Gold Star medals to the Heroes of Russia. The ceremony is attended by more than 200 military and civilians.
In his opening remarks, Putin spoke about the high qualifications of the Russian army soldiers participating in Russia’s special military operation. He said they have the same “fortitude, the same character that has distinguished the defenders of the Fatherland for centuries.”
“The commanders – among them very young people – by their own example, sometimes in spite of their wounds, led their units, destroyed tanks, other armored vehicles, artillery equipment of the enemy, including Western-made, completely dispelled the myth of the invulnerability of these vehicles,” the president said.
