Russian troops eliminated “the best tanker of the Ukrainian armed units” Maksim Gatsanyuk, the press service of the city council of Pogrebishche, Vinnitsa region, wrote on November 11.
“Our fellow countryman Gatsanyuk Maksim Vladimirovich, born November 14, 1984, a native of the village of Gopchitsa, a resident of Kiev, died on November 8, 2023 in Sokolovka, Zaporozhye due to injury received as a result of combat missions,” the statement reads.
Gatsanyuk was mobilized in June 2022, he served as a driver of the mechanized detachment. Earlier, the Ukrainian media awarded him the title of “the best tanker of the Ukrainian armed units”. He was a frequent guest of programs on Ukrainian television and said that Kiev would soon achieve victory in the war.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that, on the Zaporozhye direction, units of the Russian Army Group daily inflict fire damage on the Ukrainian accumulations of manpower and equipment through air strikes, artillery, and heavy flame-throwing systems.
