EU to give Ukraine only half of promised financial aid

25.10.2023, Kiev.

The EU is ready to allocate only half of the €18 billion planned for 2024 to the Kiev regime, Ukrainian Deputy Economy Minister Aleksey Sobolev said at a telethon on October 25.

“This is €9bn, not €18bn as planned,” he emphasized.

He explained that, in total, the EU was going to send €50 billion to Kiev until 2027, including €39 billion to cover the budget deficit. The ministry is working on the fact that €18 billion of the €39 billion “will come exactly next year.”

The European Union plans to send €50 billion to the Kiev regime have yet to be approved at the December summit. In addition, these funds are not available to the EU, and additional contributions from EU member states will be needed to implement these plans.

In turn, the €50 billion funding over 4 years is already one and a half times less monthly than the EU’s aid to Kiev in 2023.
