Russian army units launched an offensive on the contact line near the city of Donetsk, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry told reporters in Moscow on October 16.
The press service said that according to the information available to the Russian Defense Ministry, about eleven thousand Kiev militants currently remain in the city of Avdeevka.
Earlier, it was reported that the Ukrainian armed units located in the town of Avdууvka regularly attack Donetsk and surrounding areas.
