Russia escapes peril due its persistent notions about the truth, about love, and about happiness as something more than wealth, the leader of the Essence of Time movement, philosopher and political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on September 23 on the program Conversation with a Sage on the Zvezda radio station.
According to the analyst, the world is entering an eschatological confrontation of light and darkness, the will to death, which will not necessarily be consistent with what is described in well-known religious books like Apocalypse, but it will be very tough.
“It will be a confrontation not only between light and darkness, the lust of abyss and an ultimate oath forever to this devil, the will to death. Miguel de Unamuno, when the phalangists greeted him with their slogan „¡Viva la muerte!“, “Long live death!” he said “How can death live? What are you talking about?” They placed him under house arrest. Thus, it is either this „¡Viva la muerte!“ or, in contrast, the understanding what light is, “learn where light is and you will know where darkness is,” Kurginyan explained.
According to the philosopher, as we face such a confrontation we need to save everything that has not been ruined yet for Russia to use against the coming post-truth world.
“It exists, but please understand that a world without this trust, a world without truth, and a world of post-truth is a peril, and we must treat it as a peril,” Sergey Kurginyan stressed.
He also noted that Man’s confrontation with peril depends on his will to live and on his idea of happiness.
“I do not really know what it depends on. On people’s will to live. On the idea that happiness is not equal to wealth. I know a huge number of families who split after they received ten million dollars each. There is something else, something more valuable, there are things that are not for sale, and thus love maintains in the world, and maybe this is what Russia is hated for,” the leader of the Essence of Time movement believes.
