The Nakidka camouflage coating for Russian T-90M “Proryv-3” tanks shown additional ability to deflect Javelin anti-tank missile system (ATMS) missiles in the course of its use in the zone of Russia’s special military operation, an informed source told RIA Novosti on October 7.

The kit consists of several layers and reduces the visibility of the equipment, including in the infrared and radar ranges.

“It smooths out the so-called thermocontrast zones, causing a failure of target acquisition of the Javelin PTRK missile, which uses an infrared GSN,” the interlocutor told reporters.

He added that the use of smoke and aerosol curtains provided an additional protective effect to the Nakidka camouflage coating.

The camouflage coating was developed by the NII Stali company, part of the Kalashnikov concern. Rostec’s First Deputy Director General Vladimir Artyakov noted that the camouflage allows reducing the visibility of the equipment by radar and thermal imaging devices. Its coloring creates the effect of deforming the object and makes the equipment less visible to optical observation.
