Russia will soon face the emergence of a unified Turkish-Azerbaijani state dominated by NATO member Turkey, political scientist, philosopher, and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said in the article “Karabakh Bell” in the Essence of Time newspaper No. 553 September 27.
Kurginyan noted that Azerbaijan was a normal post-Soviet state for a long time, and Russia treated it with the same restrained correctness as Armenia. At the same time, some in Russia considered Azerbaijan more alien in religious terms than Christian Armenia, and some sympathized more with Azerbaijan, as they considered it less pro-Western than Armenia.
The political scientist emphasized that all this is in the past. Azerbaijan refused to be normally sovereign even in a dubious post-Soviet manner. An unthinkable ecstatic rapprochement with Turkey took place. According to Kurginyan, it is important that everyone now realizes this.
“Soon we will be dealing not with the unity of the people in the presence of two states, as is being said now. But with a unified Turkish-Azerbaijani state dominated by Turkey, which is a NATO member,” Kurginyan said.
