An elite group that swore to unite Russia with the West and destroyed the USSR for this purpose, has the power Russia today, said political scientist, philosopher, leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on August 22 in a new issue of his original broadcast Destiny.
The political scientist reminded that since the time of Yuri Andropov, the Soviet elite had a plan to dismantle the USSR and unite Russia with Europe.
“There was an idea to replace the Soviet Union as a dead-end construction and the socialist camp as something that was even more of a dead-end with a normal democratic capitalist Russia, which by virtue of these characteristics will become part of the West. And having become a part of the West, it will begin to resolve the situation in relations between Europe and the United States,” the political scientist said.
Kurginyan explained that after the disintegration of the Soviet Union, when the core of the CPSU [Communist Party of the Soviet Union] proved its ambiguity, the core of the intelligence and security services, for which it was vital to implement Andropov’s plan, assumed power from the CPSU core.
“This core of the intelligence and security services swore to implement this project so that the terrible loss [the collapse of the USSR – Rossa Primavera News Agency] in the form of this project would be recouped. So that, I beg your pardon, on Judgment Day, they would not be asked: ‘What have you done?’. Exactly this group, the group that wanted to do this, is in power,” Essence of Time’s leader emphasized.
At the same time, Kurginyan emphasized that this core turned out to be heterogeneous. It split into those who are ready to join the West on any terms, including the dismemberment of Russia, and those who categorically refused to become part of Europe at the cost of an even greater disintegration of the country. The leader of the second group was Vladimir Putin.
“Everything that has happened – Putin’s Munich speech, the military actions in South Ossetian and Abkhazians, Crimea, Donbass and Russia’s special military operation – is a response to this [the West’s proposition to further disintegrate Russia to join Europe] from this group,” Essence of Time’s leader said.
Sergey Kurginyan explained that it is very important for this group to maintain the myth that the USSR was replaced by a better, more efficient country. They neurotically cling to the idea that everything is fine and “covered in chocolate” in Russia, so that they do not feel remorse for the disintegration of the Soviet Union and the failure to join Europe. However, as the political scientist emphasized, this myth is very dangerous in the current situation.
“And if I attack or criticize this very ‘chocolate’, ‘chocolate’ patriotism, it’s not because I want to score some points (I don’t need anything, except for Russia’s victory), but because this is a monstrous obstacle to victory. Monstrous! That there is nothing more terrible than ‘chocolate’,” Kurginyan said.
