Soldiers of the Russian Army Group Tsentr repelled attacks by Ukrainian assault groups, including the Azov brigade (organization banned in Russia), in the Krasny Liman direction, the head of the army group’s press center Aleksandr Savchuk said. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry on August 31.
“In the areas of the Yampol section of the front and Serebryansky forestry in the Krasny Liman direction, the actions of units of the Army Group Tsentr, air strikes and artillery fire allowed to repel attacks by assault groups of the 21st and 63rd mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian armed units, as well as the 12th special forces brigade Azov (organization banned in Russia)*,” Savchuk said.
The Russian servicemen eliminated more than 60 militants. In addition, an infantry vehicle, an armored vehicle and two pickup trucks were destroyed. Two UAVs were shot down.
Savchuk added that more than 30 Ukrainian artillery positions were destroyed by the Msta-B howitzer crew.
Earlier, it became known that the Russian military destroyed a Ukrainian military train with ammunition.
