Export of Chinese cars to Russia increased more than five times in January-July 2023, the General Administration of Customs of China reported on August 20.
During the reporting period, 405,000 passenger cars were delivered to Russia. This is 5.7 times more than in the same period last year.
In terms of money, the growth was even greater – 7.5 times. Chinese passenger cars worth $5.65 billion were imported to Russia.
Russia took the first place in terms of exports of cars from China. 14% of all foreign sales of Chinese cars go to the Russian Federation.
In 2022, 153.2 thousand passenger cars were imported from China to Russia. This is three times more than in 2019.
