Kiev needs to enlist three million people in the Ukrainian armed forces to confront Russia successfully, German analysts say, Die Welt wrote on August 20.
It is pointed out that to achieve military goals, according to calculations, the number of the Ukrainian Armed Forces should amount to 10 percent of the population, which is three million people out of the 30 million living in Ukraine.
On August 13, the head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry Aeksey Reznikov said that the lack of trained military engineers in the Ukrainian army affects the offensive capabilities. According to German Brigadier-General Christian Freiding, the Ukrainian military suffers heavy losses due to Russian minefields.
