Russia does not rule out that the USA may use its biological defense technologies for offensive purposes, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the Chief of the Russian NBC Protection Troops, said at a briefing on August 16.
“We do not rule out that the United States will use of so-called defensive technologies for offensive purposes, as well as for global governance by creating crisis situations of a biological nature,” the Russian Defense Ministry spokesman said. He emphasized that the US military-biological activities pose a threat to the security of the world.
He drew attention to the fact that the Pentagon’s projects are primarily aimed at studying pathogens of deadly diseases such as anthrax, tularemia, coronaviruses, as well as pathogenic avian influenza and African swine fever.
On October 18, 2019, two months before the first official reports about the emergence of the coronavirus in China, Event-201 exercises were held in New York in the United States. Measures were practiced to combat the epidemic of an unknown coronavirus, the carriers of which, according to legend, were bats.
The Russian Defense Ministry noted that the development of the pandemic, which fully coincides with the Event-201 exercise, “raises questions about the possible intentional nature of COVID-19 and U.S. involvement in the incident.”
