Three dozen ships of various classes will be added to the Russian Navy in 2023, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the Main Naval Parade in St. Petersburg on the occasion of Navy Day on July 30.
“Today Russia is confidently implementing large-scale tasks of the national naval policy, consistently building up the power of its fleet. This year alone, 30 ships of different classes are being added to its fleet,” Vladimir Putin said.
It should be noted that the Russian Navy currently has 222 ships and 75 submarines, including 50 nuclear-powered ones.
Among the ships that will join the Russian Black Sea Fleet by the end of the year are, in particular, four small missile ships of Project 22800 Karakurt, carrying Kalibr and Onyx cruise missiles.
