On July 24, the German newspaper Bild presented its readers with excerpts from a “for internal use only” report on the actions of the Ukrainian army prepared by representatives of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr).
In the opinion of the German military, Ukrainian officers do not allow young Ukrainian soldiers to realize the skills they received during their training in the West.
The Bundeswehr report says that the more time a Ukrainian soldier has spent in the Ukrainian armed units and the higher his rank, the less inclined he is to acquire the principles of Western military training.
“They [Ukrainian soldiers] learn the material, but once in Ukraine, they follow the orders of officers who are unable to act according to the Western model,” the Bundeswehr report reads.
